A Pleasant ride of 20,000 Kms

Today I completed 20,000 Kms on my bike. It's a Silver color Bajaj Pulsar DTSi 150 cc and it's 21 months old. It has been a very smooth ride so far and the performance of the bike has been really great.

Some Performance data:
1) Achieved top speed of 120 KMPH on Solapur highway.
2) Have got peak mileage of 63 KMPL in first few months (around 6 months).
3) On an average I get 52-55 KMPL
4) Went 0-60 in around 5.5 seconds on Pune-Mumbai highway few months back (not bad after 1.5 yrs)

I love riding my bike and now I want to get some modifications done on my bike to enhance its looks and performance.... But I don't know anyone who has done it or who does it... So guyz please help me out here and give me some suggestion and/or pointers on this.

hey dude,

Me planning to buy a new bike.. my basic needs are long drive and a good average, and also that if i drive long enough it should give the same performance till the end of my day...

so what is your view about 150cc pulsar.. should i go for it.. or i can go for 180cc of pulsar or go for some other bike..

Hey Harsh,

For Long drives, nothing beats "Thunderbird"... It's a luxury on 2 wheels if you are looking for long drives, but mileage is just about 35 KMPL.

Pulsar 150cc will give you good mileage and great riding experience but it's not very comfortable for long drives. By long drives I mean drives of length 150KMs at the least. But it's performance won't disappoint you. Also you will get a mileage of 55 KMPL (avg) if you are not crossing 70-75 KMPH for most of your drive. At high speeds (above 75-80 KMPH) mileage drops down to 40-45 KMPL. In this segment Unicorn has also been doing good but I don't have much information about it.

With Pulsar 180cc mileage is again not very attractive but pick-up is better than 150cc and you get new black styling. Other than that there isn't any significant difference between 150 & 180.

You might also want to explore the option of Avenger as it is the link between sports bikes and cruiser bikes.
